MARSH Lab is currently searching for undergraduate research assistants and graduate students to join the lab. All interested students are encouraged to apply, but Dr. Farrell especially urges those with backgrounds underserved and underrepresented in psychological science to consider our lab. Greater diversity in viewpoints and experiences will strengthen our science!
Graduate students
Dr. Farrell is planning to accept a new student to start graduate school in Fall 2025. Dr. Farrell can advise individuals in the Social Psychology PhD program or co-advise students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at Miami University. Individuals should apply to the PhD program of their choosing by December 1, 2024. Applicants should have a strong undergraduate record, research experience in social psychology or biobehavioral health, research interests that clearly align with the themes and focuses of MARSH Lab, and a commitment to working with community samples. Prospective students can find out more about the Social Psychology program at Miami, the clinical psychology program at Miami, and can email Dr. Farrell if they have additional questions about MARSH Lab.
Undergraduate Research assistants
RA’s are expected to commit 6-8 hours per week to working in the lab, and will be required to sign up for research credit. The lab typically hires new RA’s at the start of the fall semester each year, but there may occasionally be opportunities to join at the start of the spring semester as well. To join the mailing list to receive a research assistant application the next time it opens, email Dr. Farrell with “Potential RA” in the subject line and include your name, major, GPA, class year, and one sentence describing why you’re interested in working in the lab.
