Dr. Allison Farrell

Allie fell in love with relationships research* as an undergraduate at Haverford College. She went on to complete her PhD in Social Psychology at the University of Minnesota. While in graduate school, she became increasingly interested in the effects of close relationships on physical health. This lead her to a postdoctoral fellowship at Wayne State University as part of the Researchers of Biobehavioral Health in Urban Settings Today (RoBUST) transdisciplinary team science training program. She came to Miami University in 2019 to continue her work on relationships, stress, and health, and she teaches courses on Social Psychology, Close Relationships, Stress & Coping, and Biomarkers in Health Psychology.

Outside of the lab, you can often find her hiking in the woods with her husband, son, and dog, at the ice rink learning to figure skate, or cooking and eating tasty foods.
